Juicy Oasis – Transfers Information

Whether you want a transfer with a luxury private car or in an Executive Vehicle, you can book your transfers to and from Juicy Oasis in advance with the comfort of knowing it’s all been taken care of. Juicy Oasis is set in a remote part of Portugal, and the transfer usually takes just under 2 hrs.

We use two incredibly well-respected and trusted third-party transfer companies to assist in your travel to and from Juicy Oasis. These companies provide the level of quality, comfort and reliability that we want our guests to experience. They provide a first-class transfer experience that is better than any other we have found. This is what you can expect:

• An English-speaking rep at Lisbon Airport to meet you upon arrival 24-7.
• Vehicles are the latest models, with the cars primarily being luxury Mercedes or Audi’s.
• All the vehicles have water.
• VIP Transfer Portugal works for the Portuguese government, chauffeuring for the Ministry of Defence; so the vehicles and the drivers follow and abide by all safety, legal and professional protocols.
• The journey from Lisbon Airport to Juicy Oasis is 160 km — the equivalent of travelling from London to Bristol — and the transfers use toll roads for a quicker and more comfortable journey (the tolls alone cost €50 per vehicle, per journey).
• All the drivers are professional and punctual. They will not speed, smoke, play music (unless you request this), or use the telephone without a BlueTooth headset. (Not things that are always guaranteed with other transfers and taxis in Portugal!)
• If you have any issues with lost luggage, the representative at the airport will assist you.

You can of course arrange your own transfers with either a taxi or an Uber or hire your own car. However please be mindful that these options are not always straightforward and we have had a few negative experiences:

Uber transfers from Juicy Oasis to the airport can take far longer than quoted to arrive at Juicy Oasis, as there are no Uber drivers near Juicy Oasis, so they have to travel from further away to arrive with us.

Often guests cannot book an Uber from Juicy Oasis to Lisbon as when it comes to booking, it says “vehicle not available” as there are no Uber drivers located near the retreat.

We had an experience with a guest whose Uber vehicle was electric and the driver had to stop twice on their journey to charge the car, which resulted in a 3-hour journey from Lisbon airport to Juicy Oasis!

We have had more than one instance where guests pre-booked hire cars, but on arrival at the airport were told by the car hire company that all vehicles were rented and they couldn’t supply a car.

Group Transfers

The group transfers run at set times (subject to change) on Saturdays only (our changeover day). These cost £85 each way (£170 return) per person. Each vehicle can accommodate a maximum of 8 people.

Arrival Group Transfers (Lisbon Airport to Juicy Oasis)

Our arrival transfer timetable accommodates the majority of flights into Lisbon airport. When selecting your transfer, please remember from the time your flight lands, you need to allow at least 45 minutes – 1 hour to disembark; collect your luggage; pass through passport control; and maybe use the toilet or buy a drink.

The transfer from the airport to Juicy Oasis generally takes around 1¾ – 2 hours.

Transfers run at these set times only, so if you miss the group transfer you will need to contact the retreat directly. If there is space, we will book you onto the next group transfer. However, if there is no available space, or you do not wish to wait, you can book a private transfer and pay the difference in cost once you reach the retreat.

Departure Group Transfer (Juicy Oasis to Lisbon Airport)

Our departure transfer timetable accommodates the maximum number of flights from Lisbon airport. When selecting your transfer, we recommend allowing at least 4 hours — 2 hours for the transfer journey and a minimum of 2 hours at the airport prior to your flight. Please be aware that there can occasionally be delays at security and passport control. Please note, the timings below are a guide only, your transfer time will be confirmed with you at a later date once all guests flight times have been received.

Departure Transfer Times

• Transfer 1: 03.00
• Transfer 2: 07.00
• Transfer 3: 09.45
• Transfer 4: 12.00
• Transfer 5: 14.45
• Transfer 6: 16.30

Private (Any-Time) Transfers

Private transfers are available to and from Lisbon Airport. The cost for this service one way is £220 (1 – 3 guests) or £275 (4 – 7 guests)  and can be booked on any day at any time. These can be booked online.

Kindly note, any other collection or drop off point in Lisbon (central Lisbon only) will incur an additional charge of: Executive Vehicle 1 – 3 guests £40 extra, 4 – 7 guests £50 extra.

Any delays beyond 1 hour between you landing and meeting the transfer driver will unfortunately result in the following charges being incurred:

Waiting time up to 1 hour from flight landing = €0
Waiting time 1 hour – 1.5 hours from flight landing = €20
Waiting time 1.5 –  2 hours from flight landing = €40
Subsequent waiting time will be charged pro rata at €20 per half an hour.

During your transfer between the airport and retreat (and the return), the transfer company will accommodate a reasonable stop if required for the use of the bathroom. However any waiting time beyond a reasonable length of time will incur a waiting time fee, as above.

Bespoke transfer quotes to other locations in Portugal are also available upon request; these cannot be booked online.

Baggage

Please note when booking, that ALL transfers (group and private) can accommodate 1 x suitcase and 1 x one hand luggage bag per guest only. If you are planning on bringing more baggage than this, please inform our team prior to booking transfers as you may require a larger vehicle which may incur additional costs. If you do not inform us, we cannot guarantee that the vehicle will be large enough for both guests and baggage; it will be up to you to make alternative arrangements, and you will still be charged for the transfer booked.
